Well I don’t really have an excuse for not posting much on here except that everything I have been practising or promoting in the past week or so has been going really well and I’ve been finding myself really getting into an enthusiastic mindset very quickly and without fail almost every day.
I’m for some reason literally having urges to find new music to practise sight reading which to me and most other musicians isn’t something I normally find fun in the slightest.
I guess it’s the challenge that’s appealing!
If you have a second to go over to my myspace account at
then that’d be absolutely brilliant for me and I’ve now listed all my gig dates up there and i’m continuously adding new ones whenever they’re coming in.
Coming up soon I’ve got some gigs with Jochen Eisentraut (at least quad-lingual jazz combining Jochen’s own compositions and some standards ranging from the roots of modern imporvised music right up to some mroe contemporary music and a selection of world music thrown in for good measure), Martin Beattie a’r Band (welsh fairly M.O.R. Rock in a 5piece line-up) and then next month I also have my parts to play for the production of Billy Elliot that is coming to a theatre arena not far from where I live; I’d love it if anyone who reads this could come down and say hi.
Tonight I promise to try my best to post two things:
A transcription of something Janek Gwizdala said in a podcast about improvisation and music in general
A transcription of ‘Skunk Funk’ by the Brecker Brothers from their self-titled album.
Catch you soon,
